With just 4 races left on the Formula 1 season, I think it is more than a little safe to declare Lewis Hamilton as the champion once again. All that we are really talking about at the moment is that he has yet to sign a new contract with Mercedes, which is a surprise to a lot of race fans. The feeling is that it is only going to put the pressure on Mercedes to get a deal done as soon as possible if Hamilton wins this weekend in Turkey, as that may be when he officially clinches the world championship. Whatever happens and wherever he lands, Hamilton looks set to continue to dominate, as he has never really looked under any real pressure this season. Formula 1 Betting Analysis for the 2020 Turkish Grand Prix
Lewis Hamilton (-250)
This weekend is a bit of a strange one when it comes to handicapping, as this will be the first time a Grand Prix will be held in Turkey since 2011. That came before Hamilton began his domination of the sport, but despite that, he still has a win and a couple of podium finishes in this race. This, though, is all about what he is doing now, which is winning at an amazing rate. Hamilton won the previous race in Italy a couple of weeks ago and is now on a run of 4 straight wins. He is on automatic pilot at the moment, which makes it very tough to bet against him.
Valtteri Bottas (+350)
This will be all new for Bottas, as he came into F1 after the Turkish Grand Prix had been scrapped back in 2011. It’s hard to handicap a driver who has never raced on this circuit, but he is another driver who seems able to adapt to any situation and get up the near the front. He has been amazingly consistent this season and especially over the past few races. Bottas was forced to retire in Germany a few weeks ago, but he has a 1st and a trio of 2nd place finishes to his name during that stretch. He needs a win here to delay the inevitable Hamilton championship.
Max Verstappen (+500)
If you want an idea of just how good Verstappen is, think about the fact that he is still 3rd in the driver standings despite being forced to retire in 4 of the 13 races he has run this season. In the 9 races that he was able to complete, he landed on the podium every single time. Unfortunately, 3rd overall is likely where he is going to finish the season, which is exactly where he landed last year. Like Bottas, Verstappen has never taken part in a Turkish Grand Prix, so it is going to be interesting to see where he lands. He is always worth a look, especially at the price he is sitting at right now.
