2020 Tuscan GP Odds & Picks – Formula 1 Betting

In the current era in F1, it is not very often that we see very many surprises, but we definitely got one last weekend with the first of two races set to be held in Italy. It was surprising enough to see Pierre Gasly take the checkered flag at Monza, but even more surprising to see the top 3 drivers in the world fail to land on the podium. With Lewis Hamilton dropped to 7th after a penalty, it will be seen as a lost opportunity for Bottas and Verstappen to close some ground at the top. We are back in Italy this weekend, but will we see a return to the status quo or will there be more surprises. According to the bookies, it is the first of those options that seems the most likely. Let’s take a look at the favorites for this race, along with their Formula 1 odds.

F1 Pirelli Gran Premio Della Toscana Ferrari 1000 Analysis

Lewis Hamilton (-230) – Hamilton saw a run of 5 straight podium finishes, including 4 wins, come to an end last weekend in Italy. He looked to be in control before the race was stopped and he enter the pits, which were closed, earning a 10-second penalty. While that may not seem like a lot, in F1, 10 seconds is an absolute eternity. It proved to be impossible for Hamilton to get back near the lead after that, so he had to be content with a 7th place finish. This is now the second straight season where he has failed to win in Italy, but he will have a chance to correct that this weekend.

Valtteri Bottas (+350) – Bottas was able to make up a little ground on Hamilton in the Formula 1 driver standings with a 5th place finish last weekend, but it is not enough to make any sort of real impact. It was, in truth, a disappointing run for a driver who had finished on the podium in his previous 3 races in Italy. That aside, his previous form here suggests that we might be looking at a bounce back weekend for the Finnish driver. I would certainly be looking at taking him to deliver a podium finish on Sunday.

Max Verstappen (+500) – Outside of Hamilton, no driver has been more consistent than Verstappen this season. he has finished on the podium in every race that he has managed to finish. It has been the two races, including last week in the Italian Grand Prix, where he has been forced to retire that leave him sitting in 3rd in the standings. Italy has routinely been a problem for him, though, as his best finish there has been 5th. Can he top that this weekend and get himself on the podium?

Sergio Perez (+5000) – As is always the case, there is a big drop off in the odds after the top 3 drivers in F1. As last week showed, though, it’s never a bad idea to put a few bucks on a real outsider in hopes of cashing a winning ticket. Even just taking one of them to land in the top 3 can deliver a very nice return. Perez sits behind the top 3 in the eyes of the bookies, and with 7th being his best finish in Italy, he looks like a longshot even for a podium finish.
