NCAAF 2020 Season Week 6 SU Picks Expert Analysis

We are heading into Week 6 of what is a rather odd season in college football. We have some conferences sitting out altogether while other are still getting ready to start later in the year. It’s going to make things very challenging indeed for the playoff committee when the time comes, but all we can do at the moment is use an old cliché and take on week at a time. One of the positives of football during the coronavirus is that we are seeing mostly conference matchups, which means that rivalry week is just about every week. That can make things tough on bettors, as those types of games tend to be tight and unpredictable. Still, we are going to do our best to go through the weekend schedule to see if we can pick some winners at decent NCAAF odds, so let’s get right to it.

NCAAF SU Picks Week 6 | College Football Betting

Oklahoma Sooners over Texas Longhorns

This will be the 3rd Big 12 matchup of the season for the Oklahoma Sooners, but it may come as a surprise to many that they are still looking for their first conference win. This is a team that came into the season as the favorite to win the Big 12, but that now looks to be a longshot at best after back to back losses to Kansas State and Iowa State. Next up is the Texas Longhorns, who are themselves coming off a stunning loss to TCU last weekend. The cat has very much been set among the pigeons in this conference, making this game even bigger than it usually is. A close one here with a lot of scoring, but I am taking the Sooners to edge it.

Syracuse Orange over Duke Blue Devils

Given how things have gone for these 2 teams to start the season, it is perhaps a little surprising to see the Syracuse Orange in as a 2 ½ point home underdog this weekend. I think that this is an opportunity to get a slight underdog in as a pick on out parlay tickets. Duke have opened the season with an 0-4 record, and other than a 38-31 loss to Virginia Tech last weekend, they have not been particularly competitive. They are now just 1-8 SU in their last 9 versus team from the ACC. Syracuse got off the mark last weekend with a convincing win over Georgia Tech and will be looking to build on that. The Orange are always tough to beat at home, going 10-2 SU in their last 12. Let’s take them to improve on that record.

Kentucky Wildcats over Mississippi State Bulldogs

If you ask college football fans to name the toughest conference to win, the vast majority would likely point you in the direction of the SEC. It could be argued that this season is going to be tougher than most, with every team forced to play an all-conference schedule. We are just 2 weeks into SEC play, and it has already become clear that this is going to be a tough road for every team. The Kentucky Wildcats are at home this weekend looking for their first win of the season, with the Mississippi State Bulldogs (1-1) coming to town. Kentucky is just 2-5 SU in their last 7 against the Bulldogs, but I have a sneaking suspicion that they might just pull this one out.
