NFL 2021 Season: Atlanta Falcons vs San Francisco 49ers Betting Analysis & Prediction

A very important game is taking place on Sunday in San Francisco, California. The 49ers currently hold onto the sixth seed in the NFC playoff preview. The Atlanta Falcons are tied for the last spot in the playoffs with a record of 6-7. A win from the Falcons makes the last two spots that much more interesting in the NFC playoff race.

The Atlanta Falcons season has not been the most interesting, but they have done enough to be in contention. In Week 15, the Falcons are tied for the seventh spot in the NFC. The Falcons are coming in off a win over the Panthers last week. Matt Ryan is giving his team another shot at a playoff appearance to finally chase down the Lombardi Trophy.

The San Francisco 49ers are currently in third in the NFC West, but they are currently inside the playoff picture. The 49ers got a much-needed win in Cincinnati last week, more stressful than it needed to be. A win this week would help build their cushion on the bottom of the playoff race.  With all that mind, let’s take a closer look at both teams and how they arrive to this match so you can get all set to place your bets against their NFL odds.

NFL Betting Preview for Atlanta Falcons at San Francisco

Atlanta Falcons Preview

With Matt Ryan late in his career and without Calvin Ridley for most of the season, the play of the Atlanta Falcons is remarkable. While we are amazed by their play, it does raise red flags as well. The Falcons are still trying to push for a playoff appearance, do they also need to start looking towards the future?

Matt Ryan is not getting any younger, as we all know. Is it time to try and find his replacement? At 36 years old, how much longer will Ryan be able to produce at the level he has? While his yardage is over 3,000 on the season, Ryan has thrown 11 interceptions to 17 touchdowns.

If the Falcons are able to find Ryan’s replacement, with the receiving core of Ridley, Pitts, and Patterson, the Falcons have a very dangerous offense. If they can find a true running back to compliment Cordarrelle Patterson, that would only make them better. It might be time to look towards the future in Atlanta.

San Francisco 49ers Preview

It is unbelievable to see how stacked the NFC West is. Even at 7-6 on the season, the San Francisco 49ers are going to be a very tough out when the postseason comes. The tough and stingy defense, along with a consistent offense, will make for a tough game.

If it was not for the four-game losing streak at the beginning of the season, the 49ers could be in contention for the division or at least second place.

Since Week 8, the play of Jimmy Garoppolo has led this team to 5-2 in that stretch and the position they are in now. A tough decision will come at the end of the season on whether to keep Garoppolo or not.

The San Francisco 49ers are only two seasons removed from being in the Super Bowl. They dominated the first half of that game, and a bad offensive performance in the second half did not help.

Since then, Garoppolo has been held under the microscope by the football media. If Garoppolo can lead them back to the playoffs and win a game or two, he may save his job in the Bay Area.

Betting Pick

The experts look for this to be a convincing win by the 49ers. This would be a big statement game for San Francisco, but do not count out the Falcons yet.

They are playing well and ready to go. If Cordarrelle Patterson is able to score one or two touchdowns, the Falcons will have a chance down the stretch of this game.

San Francisco is the better team in this matchup. This game depends on what offense comes to play for the 49ers. The Falcons can hang on, but if the 49ers take them out early, they will come away victorious.

Prediction: San Francisco 49ers
