We are now just a matter of days away from the start of the season, which means that now might well be the best time to get in on the future bets in the NFL. Once teams start to pick up wins, you are going to see their odds shorten across the board, so now is when you are likely to get the best NFL odds. We are going to look at all the teams in the league and talk about their chances of winning the division, conference, and Super Bowl, as well as looking at their win total for the year.
Minnesota Vikings 2020 NFL Odds | NFL Betting Predictions
In the Mike Zimmer era, which encompasses 6 seasons ahead of this one, it has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride for the Minnesota Vikings. They missed the playoffs in his first season in charge and have since alternated between making it and missing out. If that trend holds, then the Vikings would not be playing beyond the end of the regular season this year. How that pans out remains to be seen, but we can look at their chances in a number of different ways.
Vikings Win Total (O/U 9)
In the time that Zimmer has been in charge, the Vikings have surpassed 9 wins on the season on 3 different occasions, with each of those seasons ending in a trip to the playoffs. Last year, Minnesota ended the regular season with a record of 10-6. The Vikings still have a lot of very good players in key positions, but they will be adding a ton of guys from what was a huge draft class in 2020. That makes it tough to predict how this season will go. I am leaning towards the OVER, but I would not be surprised to see a push.
Vikings to Win the Division (+170)
The bookies seem to think that we are in for a tight race in the NFC North, as they have the Packers as the slight favorite ahead of the Vikings. You need to go back to 2017 to find the last time that Minnesota won the North, so it’s probably more than fair that they are in as the second favorite this season. Realistically, it is likely to be the record against divisional teams that comes into play here. The Vikings were 2-4 in divisional play last season and will need to improve on that to have a chance.
Vikings to Win the Conference (+1500)
The NFC proved to be rather unforgiving last season, but it’s a conference that is tight, with a lot of very good teams. It can get a little cutthroat when you have that level of competition, as the heavily favored New Orleans Saints found out when they lost to Minnesota in the Wild Card last season. The Vikings lost the following week, going down to the 49ers, proving just how tough it is to make a run against so many top teams. I think the Vikings come up short again.
Vikings to Win the Super Bowl (+2400)
The closest that the Vikings got to reaching the Super Bowl in recent times was back in 2017, when they made it all the way to the Conference Championship Game, where they were blown out by the eventual Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. You look at this team, who now no longer has many of the top players from that squad, and see a team getting further away from the big prize.
