eSports Betting: Overwatch League June 13th matches

With the 2020 Overwatch League season heating up along with the summer temperatures, it’s time to take a look at which teams are in action on Saturday, June 13 and which teams are offering the best value against their Overwatch odds.

Overwatch League June 13th & 14th matches

London Spitfire 6 at Shanghai Dragons +421

London (4-5)  is sitting in 14th place in the 20-team Overwatch League standings, having gone 14-21 in maps (-7). The Spitfire have lost three straight and come into this matchup off a humbling 3:0 shutout loss against Hangzhou in their last match on May 17.

Shanghai (14-2) is sitting atop the Overwatch League standings, having gone a stellar 35-9 in maps to own a league-high +26 differential. The Dragons have won two straight and nine of their last 10 matches overall, including a 3:0 win against London in their last match back on May 16.

  • Date & Time: Saturday, June 13 at 3:00 AM

Predictions

The Dragons have won two of the last three meetings in this rivalry, including a 3:0 shutout win the last time they met. More importantly, Shanghai has been playing lights out and have won each of their last two matches by way of shutout. This one shouldn’t even be close with Shanghai looking to mash the pedal to the metal as the 2020 campaign heats up in a big way. Don’t think twice about your pick on this mismatch, the Dragons will win and win going away!

Pick: Shanghai 3:1

New York Excelsior  2.83 at Seoul Dynasty +173

New York (10-3) is in fourth place in the Overwatch League standings, having gone 31-13-1 in maps (+18). The Excelsior have split their last four matches even;y but come into this matchup off a convincing 3:1 win over Hangzhou on May 16. Seoul (6-4) is in eighth place in the standings with a 12-14-1 record in maps played.  The Dynasty have won two straight including a 3:2 upset over top-ranked Shanghai on May 9 and a 3:0 shutout win against Chengdu on May 16.

  • Date & Time: Saturday, June 13 at 5:00AM

Prediction

New York has been lights out since the start of the season, but I’m expecting Seoul to put up a real fight in this affair. The Dynasty’s win over Shanghai tells me they’re capable of beating anyone on any given day. Still though, Seoul just hasn’t been very consistent since the start of the season and New York will almost assuredly be looking to stay on track to challenge for this year’s championship. I like the Excelsior to get it done in a dogfight.

Pick: Seoul 3:2

Philadelphia Fusion 1.07 at Houston Outlaws -1111

Philadelphia (13-1) is in second place in the Overwatch League standings and are the only team that has been defeated just once this season. The Fusion have gone a stellar 38-14 in maps (+24) and come into this affair riding the wave of a six-game winning streak that includes a 3:0 shutout win over Vancouver in their last match back on May 17. Philadelphia has won an impressive 67 percent of their matches over the course of the last year.

Houston (5-9) is in 12th place in the standings with a uninspiring 21-33-3 record in maps played (-9). The Outlaws picked up a 3:0 shutout win against Vancouver in their last match back on May 16 and have split their last 10 matches evenly. Houston has won just 40 percent of their matches over the course of the last year.

  • Date & Time: Saturday, June 13 at 2:00 PM

Prediction

Philly has won two straight and four of five against Houston including a 3:1 win on August 2, 2019 the last time they met. Having said that, I’m not expecting this affair to be very competitive as Philadelphia looks to get into first place in the Overwatch League standings at some point in the very near future. Don’t waste a lot of time and energy fretting over this pick. The Philadelphia Fusion will win and win handily!

Pick: Philadelphia 3:1
