PGA Tour 2022 The Honda Classic Odds, Preview and Analysis

The 2022 PGA Tour season is off to a hot start, and we continue forward with the Honda Classic this week. Joaquin Niemann ended the streak of first-time winners when he dominated the field at Riviera Country Club.

After back-to-back 63’s to start the week, Niemann was in the driver’s seat heading into the weekend. He would be the wire-to-wire winner.

This week, we head across the country to Florida to Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, for the Honda Classic. Let’s look at some of the players to look for this week and possible surprises heading into the tournament so you can bet against the PGA Tour Odds

Golf Betting Preview for The Honda Classic

Course Overview

PGA National Resort and Spa is a Championship level course. It is a Par 70 and a 7,110 total yard course. This course is known for the finishing stretch of holes called the “Bear Trap.” Holes 15,16, and 17 feature two par-3’s with daunting tasks.

Daniel Berger

Daniel Berger is a name that is being mentioned quite frequently this week. Berger is coming off a missed cut at the WM Phoenix Open, and the week before that, he had to withdraw at the AT&T Open at Pebble Beach.

As a Jupiter, Florida native, Berger is very familiar with the area and PGA National Resort and Spa. Looking at the last 24 rounds, Berger has the best strokes gained performance.

Berger has +1600 odds currently for the week at The Honda Classic. Berger would be a smart pick for the week, even with his lack of performance within the last few weeks.

Sung-Jae Im

The 2020 Honda Classic Champion is back and ready to win the event again. Im has the best odds coming into the week with +1000 odds. Currently ranked 24th in the world, Im is coming off a Top-30 week at the Genesis Invitational.

Sung-Jae Im already has two Top-10 finishes this season, the Sentry Tournament of Champions and the Farmers Invitational. At The American Express, Im finished T-11 for the week.

After falling short of defending his title last season, Im is looking to get back to the winner’s circle this week.

Matthew Wolff

Matthew Wolff is a name being thrown around after not playing golf for the last two weeks. His last performance was at the PIF Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers, and he finished T-6 for the week.

Wolff only has three starts this season, one being a missed cut and the other was a 64th place finish at the Farmers Insurance Open. Wolff is a big name to bet on at +3500 odds for the week to win.

Matt Jones

Matt Jones is our last player to watch, and Jones is the reigning champion here at the Honda Classic. Jones is coming off a good week at the Genesis Invitational, where he finished T-15 on the week.

Jones scored a four round total 268 last season to win the tournament. Jones has +5000 odds for the week and would be a good bet to defend his title after a good week at Riviera Country Club.
