UFC Fight Night: Lemos vs Andrade Event Info

  • When: Saturday, April 23 at 6:00 pm ET
  • Where: UFC Apex, Las Vegas, NV
  • TV / Streaming: ESPN+

Lando Vannata +105 vs Charles Jourdain -125

Vannata not only has a 2-inch reach advantage, but he’s 5-1 via submission victories and 4-0 via knockout and technical knockout wins. Based on those records, Vannata has a great chance to win this.

Jourdain is 8-0 via TKO or KO wins. The chalk has a slight edge if this remains off the mat. However, Vannata can hold his own in the stand up and if this goes to the ground, the dog has the edge. Lando Vannata gets the nod.

UFC Pick: Lando Vannata

Alexander Romanov -1200 vs Chase Sherman +750

15-0 Alexander Romanov is a huge favorite over 15-9 Chase Sherman. The chalk has won fights via submission, knockout, and via decision. Don’t let Romanov’s body type fool you, he can do it all.

Sherman heads into this on a 3-match losing streak. All 3 losses were versus top competition. This isn’t enough of a step down to suggest the dog turns around his form. Romanov wins.

UFC Pick: Alexander Romanov

Maycee Barber -175 vs Montana de la Rosa +150

Barber has a decent 9-2 record. She’s 5-0 via knockout or technical knockout and 2-0 via submissions, which means the 2 losses happened via decision.

Montana De La Rosa has a nice 12-6-1 record. The underdog hasn’t lost since 2020. The loss happened via decision to Viviane Araujo.

De La Rosa has a 2-inch height advantage and a 3-inch reach advantage. Barber can win this. If the underdog uses her length, she can keep Barber from getting close enough to land anything meaningful. De La Rosa is the pick.

UFC Pick: Montana de la Rosa

Clay Guida -110 vs Claudio Puelles -110

Guida versus Puelles should be one of the most competitive MMA fights on the card. Puelles heads into this with the better record, 12-2, a 3-inch height advantage, and a 2-inch reach advantage.

But there’s a reason Guida has attracted enough money to go to -110. The 40-year-old has a ton of experience. He’s 6-2 via KO or TKO and 15-8 via submission.

Puelles is a grappler, which is where the case for Guida falls apart. Claudio will take this fight to the mat. Then, he will use his longer legs and arms to frustrate Clay. Expect Puelles, who has won 4 straight, to force Clay to submit before the end of the third round.

UFC Pick: Claudio Puelles

Amanda Lemos +160 vs Jessica Andrade -190

Andrade is as tough as it gets. Although the chalk has lost 3-of-5, look at who Andrade lost against. Valentina Schevchenko, Rose Namajunas, and Zhang Weili are three of the best women mixed-martial artists in the world.

So although Lemos has 3-inch height and 3-inch reach advantages, we must take the favorite seriously. Still, Lemos hasn’t lost since 2017 when Leslie Smith knocked her out in the second round.

The underdog is on a 5-match winning streak. No doubt, she’ll come out firing. Since Andrade is 2-2 via technical knockout and knockout, her best shot is to take this to the mat. Lemos knows this. She’ll keep the fight off the ground and frustrate the favorite. Backing the underdog makes sense.

UFC Pick: Amanda Lemos
