2020 French GP Expert Analysis – MotoGP Betting

There are 6 races left in the 2020 MotoGP season, and given how things have gone to this point, we might well be looking at a World Championship race that goes all the way down to the final weekend. The riders at the top have been flipping rankings all season long, so we can probably expect that it will stay that way coming down the stretch. There are just 8 points separating the top two riders as MotoGP heads to France for this weekend’s festivities. While the top two opened up a lead after both running well in Spain last weekend, they are by no means free and clear. Let’s take a look at the current top 4 in the driver standings so you can bet on their MotoGP odds.

Fabio Quartararo

The Frenchman made his move into the top spot, where he has already spent some time this season, with a big win in Spain. He has looked fantastic in just his second season in MotoGP and has now 3 wins to his name on the season. Quartararo started the season strong, winning each of the first 2 races of the season, but he went into a bit of a slump after that. His win last week, as well as a 4th the week before, have him back on top. He did not run very well in France last season, finishing 8th in that one, which was exactly where he finished in his final season in Moto2.

Joan Mir

You have to feel a little sorry for Mir this season, as he could well be sitting on top with a pretty decent lead were it not for that fact that he failed to finish a pair of races this season. Outside of those races, he has yet to finish outside of the top 5, and while he has yet to pick up a win, Mir has landed on the podium 4 times, picking up 100 points on the season. He has only raced once in France at this level, finishing 16th last season. He did win there at the Moto3 level.

Maverick Vinales

With 90 points on the season, the Spaniard is not sitting very far off the pace being set by the top two in MotoGP. This is a rider that has finished in the top 2 in the championship standings in 3 of the last 4 years, so it is certainly not surprising to see him up among the leaders at this late stage of the season. Mir has 3 podium finishes this season, which includes a win a couple of weeks ago in Italy. Vinales does have a win in France at this level, taking the checkered flag back in 2017.

Andrea Dovizioso

With 84 points on the season, the Italian rider is still very much in the championship race, but he does need to put in some better performances if he is going to come from behind to win this thing. Since winning in Austria a few weeks ago, he has not finished better than 5th and had seen his finishing positions get worse with each passing race. He did have a 2nd place finish in France last season, so he cannot be counted out.
