The Calder Trophy is awarded to the best rookie player during the NHL regular season. This year there were plenty of young studs to win the award, but only a few remain the favorites to win it.
Detroit’s defenseman Moritz Seider leads the pack with -240 odds to win the award. The Maple Leaf’s forward Michael Bunting is 2nd in the race with +425 odds.
In third place is the always entertaining Anaheim Ducks forward, Trevor Zegras, with +650 odds to win the Trophy. This has been a very good year for rookies, but it seems that all signs point to Detroit’s defenseman winning this award.

New York Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin leads the odds race by a major margin with -1750 odds to win the award.
Behind him is Calgary Flames’ goalie Jacob Markstrom and Carolina’s Frederik Andersen. Both of these netminders currently have +1400 odds to win the award.
This truly seems like a one-man race with Shesterkin leading the way. His stellar and consistent play has made him the heavy favorite for the award.
There may not be an individual trophy more sought after than the Hart Trophy. It is awarded as the most valuable player trophy in the NHL for that current season.
This award is where the stars shine bright. The top contenders for this award are all well-known names that have all made a monumental impact on their teams this season.
