One of the traits of a great champion is that they never give up until it is no longer possible to win. It is increasingly looking as though Max Verstappen is going to walk away with the World Championship this year, and even Lewis Hamilton has admitted that his rival has the fastest car this year. In typical style, though, Hamilton also went on to say that he and his team will continue to push until the end, although you do begin to get the feeling that his record-breaking 8th world championship is going to need to wait another year. Now that we’ve said that, we have probably jinxed Verstappen, but you do have to like him in this race given his past performances in Brazil, but nothing is guaranteed in this sport. As usual, the odds are heavily in favor of the top 2 drivers, with the rest of the pack way down on the bookies board. Let’s take a closer look at those Formula 1 odds.

Max Verstappen (-180)
If Verstappen is indeed to go on and take the title this year, he is going to have to hold his nerve through the final 5 races of the season. He has been in great form all season long and looks set to take the crown, but the pressure gets greater when the finish line is in sight, especially when a driver as great as Lewis Hamilton is breathing down your neck. Verstappen has kept his cool, though, and is coming into this grand prix on the heels of back-to-back wins that has helped him extend his lead at the top of the driver standings to 19 points. It’s a nice cushion to have at this late stage of the season, but one bad ride can change things dramatically. Verstappen won in Brazil the last time the race was held in 2019 and looked set to win in 2018 before a late accident. He very much deserves to be the favorite here.
Lewis Hamilton (+220)
This was supposed to be the year where we saw history made in Formula 1, and in the early part of the season, it certainly looked as though Hamilton was going to be very tough to beat. Over time, though, it became clear that Red Bull had the better car, making it tough for Mercedes to keep up with the leader. As mentioned earlier, Hamilton spoke about all of that earlier this week and there definitely seemed like there was some resignation in what he said. He is not about to call it quits while still in touch with Verstappen, so look for him to push hard in the final 5 races. He does have a couple of wins in Brazil, with the last one coming in 2018.
The Rest of the Drivers
The likes of Valtteri Bottas (+2000) and Sergio Perez (+1000) are likely to be among the leaders this weekend, but how about we dig a little deeper to find a longshot. I would suggest that you look no further than Sebastien Vettel, who is currently listed at +25000. He has finished 2nd in each of the last 3 runs in Brazil, so it’s not so crazy to think that he might be in the mix this weekend.
